Children with lesions, one of the symptoms of Monkey Pox, during an outbreak in the north of the country. Monkeypox is a viral disease, related to smallpox. It can be transmitted from animals to humans, usually via contact with infected bushmeat or by being bitten or scratched by an infected animal. Human to human transmission can occur via respitory droplets (requiring prolonged face-to-face contact). The disease is usually found in central and west Africa although the central African strain is more likely to be fatal with about 10 to 15 percent of infected people dying from Monkeypox. *** Local Caption *** africa health disease children
